SPML operacija
Schön Klinik München Harlaching. SPML surgery

We arrive at the hospital in the morning, the procedures are the same as in Lithuania. We register, meet the staff, are shown the department, and while the private ward is being prepared, we stay in a shared one. We chat with those who are already leaving, 3 days and then we go home, because the operation is minimal intervention. Seeing the child smiling, walking and feeling great after the operation, we calm down a little, but the stress rises as the operation hour approaches.
A few hours passed very quickly. Around 11:00 am and the second time at the operating room door, when we have to see the child off. All the memories from last year came back, only this time it is easier, because the operation lasts about 30 minutes, and the recovery time depends on the child's health.
12:30 and we are already together in the recovery ward. The staff is very helpful, they often come to check on us, ask how we are doing. We spend a couple of hours here and then go to the ward to recover and rest.

A day we were looking forward to, but also not.
First day (Friday) - we spend all the time resting. Frequent visits from the staff, several doses of painkillers, sleep breaks, everything to get as much rest as possible.
Second day (Saturday) - a good mood accompanies us from the morning. Of course it hurts and it's uncomfortable, but we both agree that we need to get out of bed. We eat breakfast and start. It's hard, but if you want everything to heal faster, you need to move. We start with easy standing up, holding on to the bed. After a couple of hours we are already standing and trying to move around the ward. Being alone in the ward is difficult, so we grab a wheelchair and go outside the same day. We move, move, move...

Third day (Sunday) - today there is less pain, so the mood is better. We have breakfast, receive visits from the staff and go outside. Advice - as with the first operations, this time too, we take a wheelchair, for support and support for the child. After several successful attempts (with the help of a wheelchair), our self-confidence is enormous, so we spend most of the day outside moving around, and we return to the ward without help.
Day four (Monday) - time to go home. Examination with recommendations, medications for a few days ahead and we are ready. THANK YOU for everything Dr. Bernius and the entire Schön Klinik staff. Clinic address Harlachinger Str. 51, 81547 München, Germany.
